How To Make A Chrysanthemum-shaped Tofu
Impress everyone with this unique chrysanthemum-shaped tofu:
You’ll need:
- An empty tofu container
- Tofu
- Scissors
- Knife
- A round cookie cutter
- A big bowl of water (the wider the mouth, the better)
- A smaller bowl of water
Steps:
1. Cut the container into half. (*You can cut to a lower height for a more pronounced (aka: ‘nicer’) cut but we highly recommend only doing this once you’ve grasped the hang of it)
2. Retain the ‘mouth’ of the container and insert the tofu in it
3. Using a round cookie cutter, press into the tofu. Remove the cutter, leaving the rounded tofu inside
4. As much as you can, thinly slice the tofu in both directions to form squarish cuts
5. Carefully transfer the tofu into a big bowl of water. Remove the cut container from the tofu
6. Gently remove the surrounding tofu until you’re left with a rounded piece
7. Transfer the piece of tofu into a smaller bowl of water. It is now ready to plate
